Salary: £30,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:30

The Opportunity

Our client is looking for a proactive Maintenance Controller to take charge of defect triage, tyre management, and repair authorisations. You will play a pivotal role in minimising vehicle downtime and keeping operating costs under control. This is an excellent opportunity to bring your workshop or fleet administration background to a thriving logistics operation.

What you'll be doing

• Triage driver and telematics defect reports, authorising essential repairs within agreed budget limits.
• Liaise with external workshops, mobile mechanics, and tyre contractors to book and manage swift turnaround repairs.
• Oversee the commercial tyre programme, including tracking inspections, rotations, replacements, and casing returns.
• Monitor scheduled maintenance, PMIs, and MOT bookings to guarantee full statutory compliance.
• Review supplier estimates thoroughly, negotiating costs and claiming under warranty wherever possible.
• Keep fleet management records updated and communicate progress clearly with internal teams and depots.

What we're looking for

• Background in maintenance control, workshop control, service advising, or commercial fleet administration.
• Solid technical understanding of commercial vehicle mechanics and tyre lifecycles.
• Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers and manage repair costs effectively.
• Experience using fleet maintenance management systems and telematics software.
• Self-driven approach with the discipline to manage daily workloads independently.
