Transport Operator

Coordinate daily fleet operations for a leading transport team based in Felixstowe.

Location: Felixstowe
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00

The Opportunity

You will take day-to-day responsibility for coordinating a busy fleet of up to 30 vehicles. This role suits an organised transport professional looking to maintain high service standards and run efficient day-to-day operations. You will join an established team with strong development opportunities.

What you'll be doing

• Coordinate daily vehicle movements and route planning for up to 30 trucks.
• Brief and debrief drivers, track live jobs, and monitor ETAs throughout the day.
• Maintain TMS and WMS systems to ensure all documentation and PODs are processed accurately.
• Serve as the primary operational contact for customers, depots, and internal teams.
• Handle delays and service disruptions proactively to keep clients fully informed.
• Ensure strict compliance with driver hours, vehicle safety checks, and transport regulations.

What we're looking for

• Proven operational experience within road transport or logistics operations.
• Solid working knowledge of transport regulations, driver hours, and vehicle checks.
• Proficiency in Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Strong prioritisation and problem-solving abilities under operational pressure.
• Clear and professional communication skills across all levels.
• Transport Manager CPC or working towards the qualification is advantageous.
