Transport Operations Planner

Coordinate daily transport operations and manage third-party haulage routes for a busy logistics team near Ipswich.

Location: Outskirts of Ipswich
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00

The Opportunity

Join an established operations team where you will take ownership of day-to-day transport planning and carrier coordination. This role is ideal for a proactive planner looking to manage multi-drop routes, straight loads, and back loads within a stable, supportive environment.

What you'll be doing

• Plan and schedule daily load movements with approved third-party carriers.
• Create cost-effective multi-drop routing and coordinate non-container back loads.
• Track consignment progress, resolve transit delays, and provide clear ETA updates to customers.
• Maintain accurate transport data, TMS records, and POD documentation.
• Liaise closely with depots, drivers, customers, and internal departments.

What we're looking for

• Proven track record in transport planning or logistics coordination.
• Experience working with third-party hauliers and multi-drop networks.
• Proficiency with Transport Management Systems (TMS) and operational tracking.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and clear, professional communication skills.
• High attention to detail when managing transport schedules and paperwork.
