Hours: Full-Time (with out-of-hours vessel coverage)
The Opportunity
Our client is looking for an experienced Ships Agency Operator to manage day-to-day port calls in Felixstowe. You will act as the crucial link between vessel masters, port authorities, and commercial clients to ensure seamless turnaround operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an operational coordinator to step into a key maritime role with an established team.
What you'll be doing
- Coordinate vessel arrivals, departures, and turnaround activities across the port.
- Liaise directly with ship masters, port authorities, and commercial clients.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, customs paperwork, and port clearances.
- Arrange essential marine services including pilotage, towage, and mooring.
- Resolve operational delays promptly and provide real-time updates to all stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate operational logs and records for all port calls.
What we're looking for
- Proven background in ships agency, port operations, or maritime logistics.
- Strong understanding of port procedures and maritime documentation.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills under time pressure.
- Proficiency with standard MS Office and shipping management software.
- Flexibility to provide out-of-hours coverage aligned with vessel schedules.
