Payroll and Finance Administrator

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

The Opportunity

This role suits a skilled payroll and accounts professional looking for a stable, hands-on position in container haulage and warehousing. You will manage weekly and monthly payroll cycles while supporting day-to-day transactional finance. It is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, tech-driven team in Felixstowe.

What you'll be doing

• Process weekly and monthly payroll runs for temporary and permanent staff.
• Collate timesheets, process expense claims, and resolve payroll queries in a timely manner.
• Handle day-to-day invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain precise employee and financial records in line with HMRC and pension requirements.
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting and reconciliations.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in UK payroll processing and general finance administration.
• Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation, statutory payments, and HMRC compliance.
• Working knowledge of finance software such as Sage or Xero, alongside MS Office.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to hit strict deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• An AAT qualification or prior experience in the logistics sector is advantageous.
