Night Transport Operator

The Opportunity

• Take charge of night operations in a leading logistics team at one of the UK’s busiest hubs.
• If you’re an experienced transport operator who thrives under pressure, this is a hands-on role with strong earning potential, modern systems, and real progression.

What you’ll be doing

• Book VBS slots and keep container movements on track.
• Optimise schedules, swap jobs, and coordinate agency/night drivers.
• Handle overnight call outs, monitor the fleet, and manage day-shift handovers.
• Join the on-call rota (1 in 4 weekends): 2 hours Saturday + weekend on-call (paid extra).
• What we’re looking for
• Transport operations experience (logistics/container environment preferred).
• Strong organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Confident communication with drivers, agencies, and internal teams.
• Solid IT skills (TMS, email, Excel).
• Calm, proactive, and able to work independently on nights.
• Flexibility to support the weekend on-call rota.
