Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00

The Opportunity

This role suits a practical, organised operator looking to combine workshop maintenance with active equipment hire coordination. You will maintain a wide variety of plant assets while managing daily dispatch schedules and customer enquiries. It offers stable daytime hours and long-term security with an established regional business.

What you'll be doing

• Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and minor mechanical and electrical repairs on plant machinery.
• Prepare, test, and organise equipment ready for outgoing customer hires.
• Process incoming returns and ensure accurate service and compliance records are maintained.
• Coordinate delivery and collection schedules with drivers and transport teams.
• Liaise with customers and internal colleagues to resolve hire and maintenance queries promptly.

What we're looking for

• Proven hands-on experience maintaining plant machinery, mechanical tools, or commercial equipment.
• Demonstrable mechanical and electrical repair capabilities.
• Experience working in hire desk operations, transport coordination, or logistics.
• Proficiency in equipment booking software and general IT systems.
• Clear communication skills and a dependable, customer-focused approach.
