HGV Fitter / Technician

Keep a modern commercial fleet moving as an HGV Technician for an established workshop team in Felixstowe.

The Opportunity

You will join a busy workshop team maintaining, servicing, and inspecting a modern fleet of HGVs and trailers. This role offers secure permanent employment with paid overtime and ongoing technical training. It is an ideal move for a qualified technician who values high maintenance standards and DVSA compliance.

What you'll be doing

• Carry out scheduled maintenance, servicing, and safety inspections on HGVs and trailers.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults efficiently.
• Complete thorough MOT preparations and rectify vehicle defects to DVSA standards.
• Maintain clear and accurate physical and electronic workshop records and job cards.
• Attend to breakdowns and urgent repairs to minimise vehicle off-road time.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as an HGV Technician, Fitter, or Commercial Vehicle Mechanic.
• Strong practical working knowledge of air braking systems, hydraulics, and auto-electrics.
• Proficient diagnostic and mechanical fault-finding capabilities.
• Full UK driving licence.
• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) is preferred.
• An HGV driving licence is advantageous but not essential.
