HGV Class 1 Trailer Fitter

Maintain and repair commercial trailers with an established fleet team based on-site in Felixstowe.

Location: Felixstowe
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:30

The Opportunity

Join our client's port and terminal operations team in a permanent, workshop-based role. You will take ownership of routine servicing, diagnostics, and essential repairs across a fleet of commercial trailers. This is an ideal move if you want stable day shifts with a reputable logistics specialist.

What you'll be doing

• Inspect, service, and maintain HGV Class 1 commercial trailers.
• Diagnose mechanical, braking, and structural faults efficiently.
• Carry out trailer repairs and routine preventative maintenance to standard compliance levels.
• Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and documented accurately on-site.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as an HGV Trailer Fitter or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Solid knowledge of HGV trailer maintenance, servicing, and repair standards.
• Experience with mechanical diagnostics and brake servicing.
• Relevant heavy vehicle maintenance qualifications (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds) are advantageous.
• Ability to work on-site in Felixstowe on a full-time Monday to Friday schedule.

The Package

• £30,000 – £45,000 per annum
• 23 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
• 3% employer pension contribution
