HGV Class 1 Day Driver

Location: Southampton
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, day shifts (approx. 55 hours per week)

The Opportunity

Join an established logistics operation where you will handle daytime deliveries and collections across the UK. This role suits an experienced C+E driver looking for steady weekday work, modern equipment, and a rewarding pay package with generous allowances.

What you'll be doing

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles for nationwide daytime deliveries and collections.
• Conduct thorough daily vehicle defect checks to ensure roadworthiness.
• Secure all freight safely using appropriate load restraint methods.
• Maintain precise digital tachograph records and transport documentation.
• Communicate route progress and delays directly with the transport planning team.

What we're looking for

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
• Current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph card.
• Proven commercial driving experience on UK roads.
• Solid working knowledge of drivers' hours and load security regulations.
• ADR certification or Megalift experience is advantageous but not essential.

The Package

• £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (£14.50/hr basic, £17.50/hr overtime).
• £10.00 daily tax-free meal allowance.
