Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
Hours: 08:00 – 17:30

The Opportunity

Looking for regular daytime hours with no nights out? This role offers a balanced mix of local driving, yard shunting, and fleet maintenance for an established commercial vehicle specialist in Basildon. It is ideal if you hold a Class 1 licence and take pride in vehicle standards.

What you'll be doing

• Collect and deliver Class 1 vehicles and trailers across the local area.
• Shunt vehicles and trailers around the yard using a tug vehicle.
• Carry out routine vehicle defect checks and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Assist with the valeting, cleaning, and general upkeep of trucks and trailers.
• Maintain a safe, tidy, and organised yard environment.

What we're looking for

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Previous experience in HGV driving, yard shunting, or tug operation.
• Experience carrying out vehicle defect checks and safety inspections.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safe working practices.

The Package

• £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
• Regular day shifts from 08:00 to 17:30 with no nights out
• Paid overtime opportunities
• £250 referral bonus scheme payable after 3 months
• Permanent full-time contract
