Freight Forwarder - Customs Clearance

Manage end-to-end multimodal shipments and customs operations with an established logistics team in Felixstowe.

Location: Felixstowe
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, standard office hours

The Opportunity

This role suits an experienced freight operator who wants a well-rounded position combining multimodal forwarding with hands-on customs clearance. You will join an established team handling busy international supply chains, taking genuine ownership of your files from quotation through to delivery. It is an excellent opportunity to broaden your forwarding and customs expertise in a key UK port location.

What you'll be doing

• Coordinate multimodal import and export shipments across ocean, air, and EU road freight.
• Complete accurate UK customs entries and manage tariff classifications and documentation.
• Liaise daily with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers, and customers.
• Issue and process key shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading.
• Monitor shipment milestones and resolve operational delays proactively.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in import and export freight forwarding.
• Practical working knowledge of UK customs clearance procedures and documentation.
• Experience handling multimodal shipments, including ocean and EU road freight.
• Familiarity with freight management systems and customs software.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail under pressure.

The Package

• £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
• Permanent, full-time contract
