Manage multimodal import and export shipments for a busy freight forwarding operation in Felixstowe.

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

The Opportunity

Join a dedicated logistics team managing end-to-end multimodal cargo movements. This role suits an experienced forwarder looking for a varied desk covering ocean, air, and road freight. You will take ownership of your consignments, build strong carrier relationships, and deliver reliable customer service.

What you'll be doing

• Manage end-to-end import and export operations across ocean, air, and road transport.
• Liaise directly with shipping lines, hauliers, airlines, and overseas agents to secure bookings.
• Prepare and process essential shipping and customs documentation accurately.
• Track shipments proactively and resolve operational delays or transit issues.
• Calculate customer quotations and negotiate competitive freight rates with carriers.
• Maintain clear, regular communication with clients throughout the shipping process.

What we're looking for

• Proven operational experience within freight forwarding handling imports and exports.
• Practical knowledge of customs procedures and shipping documentation.
• Familiarity with ocean freight operations, alongside air or road freight experience.
• Strong commercial awareness and rate negotiation abilities.
• Confident IT skills with freight forwarding management software.
