Fleet Manager

What You’ll Be Doing

• Overseeing day-to-day management of a diverse HGV and commercial vehicle fleet
• Ensuring compliance with all transport legislation, including driver hours and vehicle maintenance
• Planning and optimising vehicle schedules, routes, and workloads for maximum efficiency
• Managing maintenance, servicing, MOTs, and defect reporting to keep the fleet roadworthy
• Leading and developing a team of drivers and support staff
• Using fleet management systems to monitor performance, costs, and KPIs
• Acting as the main point of contact for operational issues, breakdowns, and incident management
• Producing regular reports on fleet utilisation, costs, and compliance

About You

• Previous experience managing HGV or commercial vehicle fleets (essential)
• Strong knowledge of transport compliance, fleet legislation, and health & safety requirements
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• A proactive problem-solver with an eye for detail
• Confident using fleet management and telematics systems
• Approachable leader with a solutions-focused, can-do attitude

Desirable

• CPC qualification or similar transport management certification
• Experience with both in-house and outsourced maintenance providers
