The Opportunity

Join an established, family-owned freight forwarding and warehousing operation in Felixstowe. This role suits an experienced customs professional who wants to take ownership of foodstuff clearances within a supportive team. You will handle compliance, documentation, and port authority liaison in a stable, close-knit environment.

What you'll be doing

• Process and submit import and export customs declarations for foodstuffs.
• Liaise directly with Port Health, customs authorities, and clients to ensure timely release of goods.
• Verify shipping documentation, tariff classifications, and statutory compliance details.
• Coordinate with internal warehouse teams to arrange smooth onward movement of freight.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and declaration logs using specialist customs software.

What we're looking for

• At least two years of customs clearance experience handling foodstuffs.
• Strong working knowledge of import and export procedures, tariff codes, and food compliance regulations.
• Proficiency with customs clearance software and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail.
