The Opportunity

Join an established, family-owned freight forwarding provider where your customs expertise directly keeps supply chains moving. This role offers the chance to handle end-to-end declarations across diverse freight within a close-knit and supportive operational team.

What you'll be doing

• Prepare and submit compliant import and export customs declarations efficiently.
• Check shipping documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
• Assign accurate commodity codes, customs procedure codes (CPCs), and duty valuations.
• Liaise with HMRC, shipping lines, hauliers, and customers to resolve holds and queries.
• Maintain organised digital customs files and update transport management systems.

What we're looking for

• Proven customs clearance experience gained within freight forwarding or logistics.
• Thorough working knowledge of UK import and export documentation and HMRC procedures.
• Hands-on experience classifying goods using commodity codes and CPCs.
• Proficiency with customs clearance software and transport management systems.
• High level of accuracy, strong communication, and practical problem-solving skills.

• £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
