Container Transport Operator

Coordinate nationwide container movements in a fast-paced transport role based in Stowmarket.

Location: Stowmarket
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:30 (some out-of-hours required)

The Opportunity

This role suits an experienced transport planner looking to take ownership of UK-wide container deliveries and export collections. You will join an established logistics provider, managing day-to-day subcontractor movements and delivering reliable service to key accounts.

What you'll be doing

• Plan and coordinate UK-wide import container deliveries and export collections.
• Allocate transport work and manage day-to-day operations with third-party subcontractors.
• Input and update job bookings accurately within the TOPS transport system.
• Maintain regular communication with drivers, subcontractors, and customers to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Resolve operational and customer queries promptly across phone and email.

What we're looking for

• At least two years of experience in container transport operations.
• Solid knowledge of UK geography and road transport networks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Experience using TOPS transport software is preferred.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

The Package

• Salary up to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
• Full-time, permanent contract.
• Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:30 with some out-of-hours requirements.
• On-site parking.
