ποΈ Logistics Purchasing Assistant
π Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
π«Ά Full time, Temporary (6 Months)
Are you organised, detail-oriented, and ready to build a career in logistics?
π¦ Weβre looking for a Purchasing Assistant to support the procurement department by managing supplier relationship and purchase orders.
π Youβll be the link between suppliers, Port Agents, Manufacturers and vessels
Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate collections and deliveries; book transport and allocate loads
π°οΈ Track shipments and proactively update customers and internal stakeholders
π Prepare and check logistics documentation (PODs, delivery notes, manifests, etc.)
π Liaise with drivers, hauliers, warehouses and freight teams to ensure smooth flow
π§― Resolve issues such as delays, missed collections, damages, and re-deliveries
ποΈ Maintain accurate records in transport/logistics systems and spreadsheets
π Support planning to maximise efficiency and service levels

Ensure compliance with company procedures and basic transport admin requirements
What weβre looking for:
π GCSEs (AβC) incl. Maths & English (or equivalent)
π» Confident with MS Office and quick to learn new IT systems
π Strong attention to detail and accurate order/data management
π οΈ Proactive problem-solver, calm under pressure in fast-paced environments
β±οΈ Strong prioritisation and deadline management with a sense of urgency
π£οΈ Clear communicator with a confident phone manner and customer-first approach
βοΈ Willing to travel when required
