Night Transport Operator – Felixstowe
Location: Felixstowe
Hours: Sunday to Thursday Nights (21:00–07:00 or 19:00–07:00)
Salary: £35,000–£45,000 (DOE and shift pattern)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Start Date: Immediate

What You’ll Do:
  • Book VBS slots: Ensure smooth container movements by securing Vehicle Booking Slots
  • Swap jobs and optimise schedules: Rearrange jobs as needed to maximise efficiency
  • Arrange agency cover: Source and coordinate agency drivers for night shifts
  • Manage call outs: Respond to and manage any operational call outs during the night
  • Monitor fleet: Track trucks working nights and check on early day shift starters to ensure punctuality and smooth handovers
  • Weekend On Call: 1 in 4 weekends, work 2 hours on Saturday and remain on call for the weekend (additional pay applies)
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience in transport operations, ideally within a busy logistics or container environment
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communicator, able to coordinate with drivers, agencies, and internal teams
  • Strong IT skills (transport management systems, email, Excel)
  • Calm under pressure, proactive, and able to work independently during night shifts
  • Flexible for on-call rota (1 in 4 weekends)
