Our client is seeking a proficient Credit Controller to join their dynamic team within a customs clearance company. So what does the role look like?

Maintenance of accurate records of invoices, payments, and account statuses
Communicating directly with clients to resolve invoicing and payment discrepancies
Implementing and maintaining internal control procedures to ensure timely payment of invoices
Conducting credit checks on new clients and establishing credit limits
Producing regular reports on account statuses, ageing summaries, and collections efforts
Liaising with sales and customer service departments to enhance the customer payment experience
Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes

So do you have what it takes?

Proven experience as a Credit Controller or similar role within the shipping, logistics, or customs clearance industry
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Sound understanding of credit control procedures and finance principles
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and ideally experience with accounting software
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively
Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
