🗂️ Job Title: Trainee Transport Operator
📍 Location: Felixstowe
🕔 Hours: Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm
About the Role 💼
You’ll coordinate daily routes, schedule collections and deliveries, and brief drivers clearly. You’ll monitor live jobs and ETAs, keep TMS/WMS and POD details up to date, communicate with customers and depots, prepare essential paperwork, and support driver debriefs and core fleet admin.
You’ll need
🏫 GCSEs or equivalent
🚗 Full UK driving licence advantageous
🕘 Hours: Mon–Fri, office hours (overtime as needed)
What You’ll Be Doing:
🗺️ Support daily route planning and vehicle scheduling
📞 Book collections/deliveries; brief drivers with clear instructions
⏱️ Track live jobs/ETAs and resolve delays proactively
💻 Update TMS/WMS with accurate job, vehicle, and POD info
🤝 Communicate with customers, depots, and subcontractors
🧾 Prepare manifests, delivery notes, PODs, and compliance records
🧰 Assist with driver debriefs, defect reporting, and basic fleet admin
About You:
🎯 Genuine interest in logistics and building a career in transport
🗣️ Confident communicator (phone/email), calm under pressure
🧩 Organised, detail-focused, and great at multitasking
🖥️ Computer-literate (MS Office/Google); quick to learn systems
🤝 Team player with a proactive, solution-first mindset
🕒 Flexible for occasional early starts/late finishes in peak periods
🗺️ Basic UK geography helpful; awareness of drivers’ hours/WTD a plus
